NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 GPU

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 Gaming Performance

Test System: ASUS Z390 ROG Maximus XI Extreme motherboard. Intel i9-9900K CPU, Corsair H115i PRO RGB 280mm AIO CPU cooler, 32GB Corsair Avenger RGB Pro DDR4-3200 RAM, 1TB Samsung EVO Plus NVMe SSD, Corsair HX1200 1200W power supply.

Let's start with the software scores, the 4090 easily set records, scoring a staggering 21872 in 3DMark Fire Strike Ultra, which for comparison is about 50% higher than the RX 6950 XT's score of 14512 (which was the highest score we had recorded before the 4090 arrived). It's also roughly the same score as the Fire Strike Ultra world record for a 2x SLI overclock - and that's with two GPUs overclocked together, mind you.

The Light Chase score continues this momentum as well, with the 4090 almost doubling the 3090 Ti's score, and in some cases literally doubling it. These numbers look really impressive.
